Few places can
offer as much variety in things to do and places to see, surrounded by
such scenic beauty, as can be found in the Spring Green Area of
Wisconsin.
How best to spend your time with us?
That is a question with many possible answers! We have the American
Players Theatre - world class Shakespearean theatre in a natural
amphitheatre; the home and school of Frank Lloyd Wright, recognized as
the world's greatest architect by the International Architecture
Society; the incomparable House on the Rock; a Robert Trent Jones Sr.
Golf Course; exceptional galleries and artists' studios; plenty of
specialty shopping and antiques; scenic hiking, biking and equestrian
trails at nearby county and state parks; cross-country skiing; canoe
trips on the Wisconsin River; and summer concerts by a variety of
local and international groups. We're also an easy drive from the
ever-popular Wisconsin Dells, historical Mineral Point, the Caves at
Blue Mounds, the Mississippi River and much more.
The Spring Green area was settled by
Welsh, English, Norwegian and German immigrants. Our early industries
were dairy and produce farms, lumbering and cheese making. Newcomers
have included many artists and craftspeople, producing a wealth of
rustic furniture, pottery, jewelry, handmade paper, and other
decorative arts.
From early spring bird watching and
wildflowers, June's annual Art Fair, the vibrant colors of fall and
the Fall Art Tour, through the charm and nostalgia of our
Spring
Green Country
Christmas® celebration, the Spring Green area is a vacationer's
delight. Each season here must be seen and experienced in its beauty.
To help you better enjoy your stay with us, we've also included
suggested day trips and a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright and Associates'
buildings.
We're glad you've chosen the Spring Green area to explore, and we hope
your visit proves most enjoyable, to bring you back again and again.
Many treasures await you in our beautiful river valley. We hope you
discover and enjoy them all! And again, Welcome.
