Excitement is growing for this year’s “Christkindlmarkt” which is set for November 25^th in downtown Plain.  In Bavaria, Christmas wares and gifts are sold in the festival-style setting of a Christkindlmarkt, meaning “Christ Child Market.”  It is associated with the celebration of Christmas with the upcoming four weeks of Advent celebrated by way of St. Luke’s Church.
 
The Village of Plain is participating in the day which coincides with National Small Business Saturday. This is a great weekend to support our local businesses in Plain:

Stop by this turn-of-the-century building and go back in time to view collections, displays, artifacts, documents, and photographs relative to local history.  Check out and vote (via the original voting box used in the 1860’s) for your favorite gingerbread house which will be crafted by classes from St. Luke School.
